Good things appear on the horizon for the Catholic community in Qatar. The first Catholic Church in Qatar has opened. Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church has a 5000 member congregation. They were recently given permission to build the Church. Naturally this has created some controversy, but hopefully with the grace of God the Church will prevail and continue to grow. Apparently the Church has bent over backwards to maintain a relatively low profile, in order to ease tensions. Prior to the Church being built, worship was held in garages, halls and homes.
