Another disturbing trend is developing. Last week a university student kidnapped a Eucharist from a Catholic Mass now the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights has printed the story below that shows that a University Professor plans on desecrating a Eucharist. If this is not a hate crime I don’t know what is. The professor in his narrow mindedness thinks he is being funny but I think we should all pray for him as he plans on desecrating the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is becoming ever more popular to bash Catholic/Christians. Please send an email to voice your displeasure to the University of Minnesota!
Here is the article from the Catholic League.
MINNESOTA PROF PLEDGES TO DESECRATE EUCHARIST
July 10, 2008
Paul Zachary Myers, a professor at the University of Minnesota Morris, has pledged to desecrate the Eucharist. He is responding to what happened recently at the University of Central Florida when a student walked out of Mass with the Host, holding it hostage for several days. Myers was angry at the Catholic League for criticizing the student. His post can be accessed from his faculty page on the university’s website.
Here is an excerpt of his July 8 post, “It’s a Frackin’ Cracker!”:
“Can anyone out there score me some consecrated communion wafers?” Myers continued by saying, “if any of you would be willing to do what it takes to get me some, or even one, and mail it to me, I’ll show you sacrilege, gladly, and with much fanfare. I won’t be tempted to hold it hostage (no, not even if I have a choice between returning the Eucharist and watching Bill Donohue kick the pope in the balls, which would apparently be a more humane act than desecrating a goddamned cracker), but will instead treat it with profound disrespect and heinous cracker abuse, all photographed and presented here on the web.”
Catholic League president Bill Donohue responded as follows:
“The Myers blog can be accessed from the university’s website. The university has a policy statement on this issue which says that the ‘Contents of all electronic pages must be consistent with University of Minnesota policies, local, state and federal laws.’ One of the school’s policies, ‘Code of Conduct,’ says that ‘When dealing with others,’ faculty et al. must be ‘respectful, fair and civil.’ Accordingly, we are contacting the President and the Board of Regents to see what they are going to do about this matter. Because the university is a state institution, we are also contacting the Minnesota legislature.
“It is hard to think of anything more vile than to intentionally desecrate the Body of Christ. We look to those who have oversight responsibility to act quickly and decisively.”

He does indeed need prayer. But can I kick him in the balls first?
Thanks for informing me/us of this.
Grace and Peace my brother!
If you think that will help, be my guest!
God Bless
Chris
Jesus can handle Himself…
It is the folks that are doing this we should be worried about. God grant them the grace of repentence even in the final hour.
Evidently the professor has no problem desecrating the real presence of Jesus Christ but is quite afraid to mess with the Koran. This man needs all the prayers that he can get. The story just gets crazier the more I hear about it.
He compares desecrating the Koran with desecrating a graveyard. Hmm desecrating the body and blood of Jesus Christ is not as bad as desecrating a “graveyard”. This man is nuts! He doesn’t have to agree with the Catholic Church, but he should respect our beliefs.
Here is a link to the latest news about this pathetic man.

This guy is crazy! At least show some respect for other religions even if you disagree with them. Even if he disagrees with Catholic beliefs, do it respecfully.
timglass, I wonder if even Christ Himself laughed at that one–I’d sure feel better knowing He did, for my own sake.
Opus, considering the gravity of the situation, I doubt very seriously that Jesus found what I said amusing (He may not have found it amusing in a lighter situation).
I was just quoting the Myers guy and though it wasn’t a christ-like thing to say, It was said in the sarcastic- tounge-n-cheek mode.
It should have not been said at all, for God is the great avenger, and He will give Mr. Myers his recompense.
I’m sorry if what I said offended you, or anyone else and I’m very sorry if it offended my Lord.
I confess to Almighty God and to you my brothers and sisters, that I have sinned through my own fault. In my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do. And I ask Blessed Mary ever Virgin, all the angels and saints and you my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. Amen.
Tim
No offense taken, timglass, and I’m sorry if my post wasn’t clear enough. I laughed on and off for a good while after reading your post (come now, that very sentiment occurred to how many of us?). I felt guilty afterward and hoped that Jesus saw beyond the anger (and who wouldn’t be angry) and at least smiled at your great love for him. God Bless.
Thank you, Opus.
God’s blessings to you as well.
Tim,
If I had thought you were serious about what you said I would have said something myself. I realized that you were commenting in a sarcastic way on Professor Myers crude statement on the same subject.
Sometimes we all have been guilty of saying or doing things that on second thought might not have been such a good idea. I have done it myself. The one great thing is that there is always forgiveness when we are contrite about it.
God Bless,
Chris
Chris,
That was exactly the way it was intended, and if I had been out of line, I knew you would have said something.
I’ll just be a little more careful in the future.
Tim
You’re good people, timglass. Your pal, cd, speaks the truth. One harmlessly sarcastic comment defending the Holy Eucharist is, by far, exceedingly more honest and more honorable than the volumes of the pseudo-intellectual-speak being posted in opposition to the sacrament. Once again, sorry to cause you any stress—His Peace to you.
